About the project

Type of flats

We have 18 flats with a separate bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. We also have 2 studio flats, which have a kitchen, bathroom and living/bedroom area.

 

Support times

The housing project’s services are available from 8.30am—5.00pm, Monday to Friday & Mind provides some out of hours support.

 

Who can apply

The project welcomes applications from people who:

           Are experiencing mental distress .

 

           Are in need of supported accommodation            (e.g. their present accommodation is            unsuited to their needs).

 

           Are over 25 years of age.

 

           Are capable of basic self-care or daily            living skills.

 

           Have no behaviour that would be a            danger to others. (e.g. those with a            history of unmanageable violence,       

           sexual offences, or arson).

 

Referrals can be accepted from any source but must be accompanied by a Community Care Assessment.

 

In assessing the suitability/appropriateness of a referral to our project, emphasis is placed on        compatibility with existing residents.

Services Available:

All our residents have an individual support plan which is developed using the stepping forward programme.

Support and advice from our workers is available every weekday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.

In addition, support is available at the Mind Drop in Centre, situated in the same complex.  Mind offers a range of day, evening and weekend sessions.  Subsidised meals are available at drop-in sessions. We encourage all of our tenants to talk with workers who are willing to offer support and help.

 

The Venue:

Support is available in the Venue every afternoon between 1.30pm and 4.00pm, where residents can involve themselves in a range of activities which assist the development of skills required to maintain independent living.

 

Residents Meetings

We hold regular residents meetings, where tenants can come and meet with other tenants. It also provides a relaxed environment or discussing any problems which may have arisen or put forward any ideas for improvements to our service provision.

 

Laundry

We have an in house laundry facility to enable our tenants to do their washing on site.
